I write these words as a record of what I have foreseen. Although my visions have a good chance of coming true, they are not set in stone, and thus, only you, the reader in the future, can tell me if the predictions of the past came to be. I should start with my name. I am Errich Thorngage, Priest and Prophet of Savras, The Third Eye. Through his blessings, the Lord of Fate has shown me the tapestry of Fate itself. My hands have touched the weave, followed its threads and seen where some end and others begin. That is not to say I'm all knowing.
You see, its the image of the tapestry that matter, not each individual thread. The big things are important, the smaller things are changeable. Ahh, but that gives me a theory, you see. If you change enough of the little things, wouldn't that risk pulling at the threads of the bigger events, wouldn't that possibly change the greater outlook of Fate? That is my prayer, my desire. My only hope.
You see, i've seen the end. Not the end of everything, the end of my people. The Ghostwise are a rare and endangered race. Few of our villages still prosper and our numbers dwindle with each year. Worse, I have forseen a Fate which will befall my own home village, killing hundreds of my people. Yet this is one of the larger images in the tapestry. I can't simply pull a string and redirect the path of fate. ... But if i could pull -many- strings. If i could change enough small things to effect the over all picture. Could I save my people?
You, who reads this from the future...
Did i save them?
