Aarin Wisclop the centaur's insight on time and causality (an extract from grimble gromble's "sleepless nights in waterdeep")
the gnome and the centaur would sit for hours and discuss all types of matters, either in the Netherese ruin or in the mushroom grove where they would spend long days just smoking and discussing ....
this is Aarin Wiseclop's take on divination: "you see time is not a line nor a circle or anything of that matter .. it is a living thing , wich expands into all directions , forth and backwards ... divination is what allows us to navigate the seas of causality . You see , time is like this tablecloth" *points at table with cloth on top* ....*he goes over and wrinkles the cloth* "now imagine you are the size of an ant for example .... if you are at the top of a ridge (*points a wrinkle*) you can see where you want to go , and thus you choose. but once you advance , there are valleys ... these are the valleys of causality ... it is not until you are back up on the next ridge that you are able to see what the consequences of your decisions were. this is the tragedy of the sight."
*Gryml takes a long drag from the vision pipe as he contemplates the words of his mentor*
