Birth:
She was born from an egg in her mother's new lair in the Rauvin Mountains with her two brothers. They were living a very happy and simple life back there. Friendly with the village down the hill. They were her mother's first children, and she was very happy with her life. Her mother named her Quituvaerosaryxon, sparkling dancing fire.
Childhood:
Life was happy an easy with her mother Gaulirmaughinger and her two brothers. They played, slept, and learned how to be good dragons under Gaul's watchful eyes and soft tutellage. They were her first hatchlings, but she was a good mother. Not the strongest dragon, but she was kind, intelligent, and well-liked by her pears. Her babies were a gift, an honor bestowed upon her by an older gold Dragon who fancied her. Of course, love was not really a factor, and none of the children had seen their father yet. But, she raised them with pride.
She would leave from time to time, to eat, but also to trade with the humans of Newfort, and remind the goblins, orc and other critters in the region that she and the village she protected, were not the be trifled with.
Until a dark faithful night, 15 years ago, Quitu was 10 years old.
Staudum Deathhand, a dark wizard, necromancer, had bought the service of the orcs and goblin of the region, he wanted the Dragonness, wanted to steal her power, but also her eggs. He didn't know they already hatched. He was middle-aged and very ambitious. Seeing his best years going away, he wanted to steal the immortality of the dragon to turn himself into something else, more powerful. He also wanted the children to breed his own army of Dragonborn, to make them stronger and obedient from birth.
He first took the village, quietly, during the night. Killed some of the man, woman, and children to make an exemple. Then, he left a contingent of orc and goblins to watch over them with express order to stay away from them unless they rebelled. Quelled, the villagers didn't try anything more.
And the wizard marched to the Dragoness lair. In an attempt to protect her young, she wouldn't leave the lair, and couldn't fight effectively. He defeated her, but didn't kill her. He kept her for a year, a prisoner, and after that, as he worked to steel her magic, her life, and her power, he trapped her soul into a gem, where she still is to this day.
He experimented on the young dragons, but as they were already hatched, he had to resort to even darker necromancy and transmutation magic to try to model them as he wanted them. Her two brothers died of that, but he kept the little female until last, because she could breed more children. Even after the failure of his two experiment, he felt like he had a good enough grasp of the process.
The trauma of the event and the pain of the process left her without any memories of her previous life. She woke up a few days later, unable to know whom she was, where and why. Until that day, she only knew pain and servitude.
To make sure she couldn't ever betray him, he casted a geas on her, one that would last until removed, without time restriction. He then commanded her to always obey is command. He was arrogant, and though it would be enough so that she would never betray him, but unless given a command, she could virtually do what she wanted.
And so, she served him as best she could, making sure he never figured out that he did wrong with her. And besides, she trully fear him and the Evilness he could do. He was vain, selfish, arrogant and violent. He didn't care for anything or anyone exept his work and his immortality. He was a brutal master.

It took some 4 years for the village to successfully send people out to find help. By then the mage had gone complacent. Finally, months later, a group of adventurers made their way there, covertly. They battled the Wizard, and he fled, defeated but not dead. In the Lair, they found 3 dead baby dragons, the dead mother, and one 8-9 years old or so, girl. She was a strange one, she looked like a dragonborn, but at the same time, she seemed off, slightly different as well. She didn't have any memories of whom she was prior to awakening in this lair as the Wizard's slave. The things she saw him do, the experiment, and the wickedness of the man had scarred her for life.
The warrior who found her took an immediate liking to the poor girl, but he was not ready to leave adventuring. So he found a couple who had recently lost their girls too, she was a bit older than Darina, but they accepted to take her in. They raised her with love and understanding, and never did they love her less than if she had been their own. The villagers were a bit wary of her at first, but they warmed to the child quickly, and she became one of them. Darian, the adventurer who had rescued her with his party, became some sort of Godfather, of Uncle to her. He came back often, always had gifts and stories for her.
Young Adult Life:
1 year ago, after a long courtship with one of the village's widow, he finally decided to settle in himself. A few months after, as his now wife was starting to show some sign of pregnancy, Darina started to see the wizard in her dreams, but also in the distance, looking at the village, or she felt him scrying her. Darian had already started to train her to become an adventurer, she needed that after all she had gone through to feel safe and able to defend herself. He understood that, and since he had settled, the few a year lessons became daily. She trained herself hard with him, and slowly learned to truly master the magic of her bloodline.

As the time passed, the dreams, the pulling from him, the feeling he was close, that he was calling her was becoming to hard to ignore. Refusing to be a danger to the village, she packed her things and told everyone she wanted to be an adventurer now. She knew enough of the stories told by her Godfather. She had some experience fighting goblins and the occasional monster who came to town. It was time to try her faith in the wide world. She had habilities that would help save people. She had a duty to it, as her Uncle did in is youth.
