Name: Elric Hornraven Redmane.
Aliases: The Red Lion.
Race: Human
Age: 26
Appearance and Style:
Elric has long red hair that is combed back to act as a mane that sprawls over his ears and shoulders. He wears a long plain brown jacket that’s too large for him, but fits his form because he wears it over his medium armor. Over one shoulder are two sword hilts, which he uses both hands to reach in combat as he dual wields the longswords. Around his neck is a crimson red scarf that almost matches his hair. His eyes are piercing blue and he usually is clean shaven or has a few days worth of stubble.
Significant Qualities:
Elric carries himself confidently but not arrogantly. He tends to come off as a wise but fun older brother. His accent is a gruff Moonshae Isles accent. He is known for either being a hero or having a hero complex depending how cynical his friends are. His claim to fame was routing the Red Plumes of Hillsfar in a battle with his father’s mercenary company. From then on he tried to live up to the reputation he suddenly gained as a folk hero.
Living Relatives:
Elanor Hornraven, his sister who was a competent archer and aided him and his father in early battles. She was more skeptical and cynical of her father’s company and went to find their mother in the Moonshea Isles.

One Thing They'd be Willing to Kill or Die for (state whether they'd kill or die for it)
- Elric is a loyal friend and hero at heart. He would die to protect the companions he makes and the people he looks after.
Birth:
He was born in the Moonshea Isles during a gentle rain a few minutes before his twin sister Elanor. His father was a bear of a man, a Northlander named Garrick the Redmane. His mother was part of the Ffolk, a druid of some power dedicated to the Earthmother.
Childhood:
Elric’s earliest childhood memories were playing with small fuzzy animals and butterflies. His mother engrained the peacefulness of nature into both him and his sister. More clearly he remembers traveling on a ship and traveling across Faerun with his father on his many adventures, being kidnapped and rescued a few times, having to pretend to be a students in a boarding school to bait out a hag disguised as an instructor, and other instances of a dangerous life of sword and sorcery the twins got thrown into.
Young Adult Life:
Once Elric started to approach maturity, his training was taken more seriously, and he was drilled in the ways of combat. While his sister started to become resentful of the dangerous life her and her brother were exposed to, Elric wholeheartedly bought into the lifestyle. He often served his father as a squire and ran errands. His father often came to Elric and his sister for advice since they were more “book learned”
Where you are today:
Elric lost his father in a battle but gained renown and reputation, becoming a folk hero. He wasn’t deemed experienced enough to lead his father’s band, and he decided to instead wander and become something of a knight’s errant to justify his status.
He is currently exploring the Sword Coast, looking for various work that can both turn a profit as well as provide good deeds.
Views on the world:
Elric tries to stay away from politics but currently is wary of the events in Neverwinter. He absolutely loathes Hillsfar and the Red Plumes. Nobility, like politicians, can be forces of good or evil, and he attempts to be aware of the current events of any place he goes. His connection to the Moonshea Isles gave him a fondness of fey early in his life, and he is comfortable with elves and firbolgs. He carries a symbol of Selune, but also tends to give acknowledgement to many of the nature deities and those of traveler’s.
Elric likes good people and communities that care for eachother. He respects warrior’s that fight for a good cause or show honor, though he doesn’t feel bound to any particular code. Elric enjoys good food and drink, though tries to limit himself before getting too boisterous. He has a fondness of beasts and nature, though likes to eventually bunk in a warm dry inn.
Greedy and selfish people tend to earn Elric’s ire. After his run ins with the Red Plumes, Elric has a particular aggression against those who would advocate harming others because of simple xenophobia, even getting into bar brawls over it. He is wary of evil deities, though Malar in particular was the boogeyman of his childhood.
Folk Hero Status:
First Lord of Hillsfar, Torin Nomerthal, reenacted Maalthiir's Great Laws, including the Great Law of Humanity, effectively outlawing non-humans. Suddenly non-human residents were forced to flee their homes, attempting to seek refuge in Elventree, having to hide from farm house to farm house to avoid being caught and forced into the arena or worse by the Red Plumes. In response, representatives from Elventree managed to hire a near by mercenary company, headed by an assertive wild haired warrior named Garrick Redmane. The Red Plumes took to battle against these interlopers, and the Redmane mercenary company held the line as the refugees limped to safety. Garrick held their flank, but was unprepared for the former Netherese soldiers who joined the Red Plumes after Thultanthar's fall. Soon, young Elric and Elanor, accompanied by their father's friend, a shifter and druid named Grizzlemane, found their leader's body, surrounded by many fallen enemies. The Red Plume commanding this company limped behind the Red Plume lines, and on a back of Grizzleman's direwolf form, Elric and Elanor followed. Elanor's arrows split the ranks enough for the large burly furred creature to break through, and with a hard and fast exchange, Elric managed to defeat the far more experience and skilled enemy commander who was still suffering from the wounds Elric's father inflicted. Thus the Red Plumes were routed.
Due to the refugees reaching Elventree safely and also no small part to the hatred the cruel Red Plumes bring upon themselves, the Redmane company became instant heroes in the region. Elric enjoyed particular recognition for unknowingly leading a charge, as it had turned out the mercenaries followed behind him and his sister. He also returned with the enemy commander's head. His feat became exaggerated among the locals, until he became something of a folk hero to them.
